Our Story

We’re Paul and Nicky, founders of The Date Box Company – born from our love of laughter, mystery, and chocolate… all from the comfort of home. As parents of young children, going out for date nights often felt more stressful than romantic. So, we created a new kind of night in – one that felt just as exciting as a night out.

What started as a fun idea soon grew into our first creation: Death by Chocolate – a decadent, dress-up mystery experience packed with clues, costumes, and top-tier chocolate. It blended everything we love: solving puzzles, getting a little silly, and sharing something special together.

Our Mission

We noticed there wasn’t anything quite like it out there – a fully curated, postal date night experience that arrived at your door with everything you need for a brilliant evening. So, The Date Box Company was born.

Based in beautiful Cornwall, we’re passionate about creating themed boxes that help couples reconnect, laugh, and play – whether it’s through woodland trails, treasure hunts, or cozy indoor mysteries. We’re also committed to sustainability, using eco-friendly packaging and sourcing from local businesses wherever possible.
